HDR Photography

I am starting a local HDR project. I am going to document major landmarks that are within an hour of where I live. That will include HDR images within the Sequoia National Forest, several lakes, farms, long time standing landmarks within my home town and more. Here is a sunset that will be in the HDR project and is the first image of the series.
Ansel Adams was a master of the darkroom and one of the things that has separated some artists from others is their darkroom skills. If Ansel Adams had his film and prints developed by someone else he might have been famous but not the way he is today. His prints can’t really be duplicated because he was a master in the darkroom and a master with the camera. The digital darkroom is today’s equivalent. One of the big things that seperates todays professionals is their skills in post processing, as it did then. Sure, there are photographers that have great artistic skill and are able to take incredible pictures with no digital editing. I love those pictures too and you have to be able to take great pictures before you can do great HDR images and post processing. This new project is really a personal effort to take my digital darkroom skills to a new level.
